Assuming we buy into the concept that there are 'model' sounds' from the US, Germany etc., who personifies these sounds? Who should I study to appreciate the differences (assuming they exist)?
I'm thinking:
US = Jacobs
Mainland Europe = Hilgers and Lind
UK = Fletcher
Then I can think of say, Bobo as having a slightly more Germanic feel than Jacobs. To me though Jacobs is the embodiment of 'the' American sound (as I hear it).
Also do countries like France still maintain that French Tuba sound at all? I'm guessing not...
Anyone find some clarity to this blurry mess in my head???
