I am going to try to learn Eb fingerings after playing a BBb exclusively for the last 26 years (yes, I have an Eb tuba to practice on). I have printed the fingering chart from the "Tips" page, but before I get started, I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on what approach or mindset I should use so I don't get too confused when switching horns. I have already seen the obvious (an Eb scale is fingered just like a Bb scale, a Bb scale is fingered just like an F scale and so on) but about how long should I expect it to take before I should be able to just read and play in auto-mode like I have for 26 years on BBb fingerings?
