There is an aspect to student loans that I really like: This aspect is that it is impossible to default on them. Not even bankruptcy excuses them. Any deals that the military offers as far as paying student loans is between the military and its soldiers, and is quite honorable as well.
I still stand by my beliefs that folks are far tougher than they think they are. I see examples of this over and over when people do stuff "simply because they had to"...
...and the "negative example" of this when college freshmen/sophomores/potential graduate students get on this bulletin board (presenting their financial problems to the rest of us) which could be solved simply by many months of working 15%-20% harder than they are accustomed to working.
