The time is past to sit in front of the T.V. with my smashed-up and partially-shortened York "Master" enjoying its marvelous playing characteristics (but in BB NATURAL). The time is NOW to yank the thing apart, unsmash it, get out the hacksaw and the torch, and finish the dirty deed.

This evening, I went into the shop and unsmashed the "top bow". To me, this is the most dreaded, because it requires the most handwork, shows imperfections the most, and is the most difficult to leave perfectly "round" when finished. OK, I'm past this hurtle, and the bell has been done for some time. On to the easier branches (all of them already "roughed out" dent-wise), the valveset, and the mouthpipe bending ordeal.

-will keep you posted. Hopefully done in a coupla months.
