New question (I think)
There is great debate on the effect of plating on the sound of a tuba. This is not that debate ;-)
My question is: Does the finish affect the weight of a horn, and if so, how much? IT's my understanding that silver is nearly twice as heavy as copper, which is one of the ingredients in brass. And Nickel is lighter than either one. (Gold of course being the heaviest, but there are few gold-plated horns).
Would this make a substantial difference, or is the plating too thin to matter?
