There should be no chance at auditions. Either you are well prepared and the best player or not. A beautiful sound and appropriate standard interpretations done well and best will usually do it.

If you loose an audition it was not because the committee thought you had a fantastic sound and great musical thoughts that contradicted their concepts. If they did not like what they heard it was probably because you did not deliver the goods. Time to head back to the practice room and get it right next time. The most amazing player who plays flawlessly does not loose an audition. If he did then he was not the most amazing player who played flawlessly.

To continue to present the same loosing package to audition committee after audition committee will not eventually land you a gig when you happen to find an ensemble who likes your ideas better than another. A loosing audition is a loosing audition no matter where it is performed. There are reasons why some people win most of their auditions and other loose most of their auditions. It is because some people have figured it out and work harder than the other group.
