Greetings,
I am currently finsihing up my degree at DePaul university and am in the middle writing a paper on the F tuba develpment in the US. Any information on how/when the F tuba came into its own in American Orchestras from around 1945-present would be greatly appreciated. Specifically, I am looking at the major orchestral tuba players of that period. Did they come into the job already using F regularly? Was it the European conductors who requested it? Was there a period in American orchestras when the F tuba was rarely used? If so, why/how did that era end/evolve into what it is today? Any info or suggestions as to where to look would be great!!

Thanks,

Mike
