Are orchestras dying?

With all the talk about the business side of orchestras, I figured I would add more fuel to the fire and start a new discussion. Last week I went to hear an orchestra concert from one of the "top 5" orchestras in the country. Just like everytime I go hear an orchestra, I noticed that almost everyone in the audience was a senior citizen. So my question is what happens when these people die??? Are there going to be any concert goers left to keep the orchestras in business??

With the exception of music students and a small minority of others, no one in the younger generations are going to orchestra concerts. Will they all of a sudden start when the audience members start dying off. Probably not, most of my peers grew up on rock music and have little or no interest in classical music. So what are we going to do to keep orchestras alive? Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
